We design our jewelry with two goals in mind: We want to create beautiful, quality jewelry with a unique style and impression. And we want to create jewelry that appeals and sells consistently to a wide range of discerning customers. Our jewelry lines offer the color, craftsmanship, style, and price point that your customers are looking for.

Also, our jewelry is entirely American handcrafted. While we use elements from around the world, the actual design and creation is done here in the United States. We are proud of the unique nature and quality of our jewelry lines, and look for galleries and boutiques that reflect that same level of quality and artistic taste. To that end, we are rather selective when choosing the retailers carrying our line. 

Despite the extremely reasonable price point of our line ($5 to $35 wholesale), we avoid chain stores, souvenir shops, kiosks, and outlets of that nature.  We have found that the best venues for our work tend to be high end boutiques, hand crafted art galleries, and eclectic gift & jewelry stores. For that reason, when applying for a wholesale account, it is helpful if you provide us with as much information about your store, clientele, and other jewelry lines as possible.

To retain this level of quality, we strictly avoid over-saturation and offer a policy of exclusivity. This ensures that once your store is carrying our line, we will not sell to your close competitors. Generally, we avoid other stores within your shopping vicinity, and often, within your entire zip code. 

We offer two distinct lines of jewelry:  Sand . Sea . Sun™  and Austin Design™. 

Sand .Sea . Sun™ is a sea glass style line, incorporating a beach oriented and waterside look.  The colors are bright, focusing primarily on ocean shades of blue and green, and there is a predominance of sand-etched, sea style glass.  The glass used in this jewelry is a combination of recycled glass and delicate beadwork.

Austin Design™ is our gallery line, combining both modern and classic styling with the highest quality elements:  European fine cut crystal, sterling silver beads, genuine semi-precious stones, natural freshwater pearls, and specialty glass beads.  The colors are deep and jewel like, ranging the entire rainbow.

Once you have opened an account, orders may be place in several ways:

•  Visit our online store (password required). You may place an order securely online or simply use the site as a digital catalog. The "Color Search" and "Style Search" options are a great way to build a collection.

•  Prepare your order using our catalog, web site, and separate order form, then fax toll free to 877-227-8004 or call in to 877-227-8134.

•  Let us help you build a collection. Give us a dollar amount & general preferences, and we will be happy to choose our best selling pieces, tailored for your store.

Minimum opening order is $300.00.  Re-orders must be $150.00.  Merchandise totaling less than minimums will be assessed a $5.00 processing fee. Orders under $50.00 cannot be accepted.

Most orders are shipped within 2 - 5 days.  We have a very quick turnaround! Ask at time of order for exact shipping times.  Our preferred carrier for continental US orders is United Parcel Service (UPS).

We strive to present our jewelry in a tasteful and efficient manner, to better assist in your sales.  All of the jewelry is delivered individually packaged and carded.  The item code for each piece is then affixed to each bag, so it is very simple to check your order against the packing list, and then to discard.

Earrings are delivered on individual earring lip cards, perfect for any standard earring spinner or display.  The cards are a heavy natural, grainy recycled paper, 2'' x 3'', with either the Sand. Sea. Sun ''sun'' logo or the Austin Design graphic ''flame'' logo.  On the back is printed a brief description of the work. 

Necklaces, bracelets, and anklets are delivered with informative story card booklets.  The cards give a description of our work and materials, the inspiration for our creations, and tips on how to care for the jewelry.  These add interest and identification with our lines, and your customers will appreciate the addition.

While we have the two separate lines, their style and packaging is designed to work very well together.  Having both in a jewelry case is visually complimentary.

Also, while we do identify each line by name and logo on the jewelry cards, we do not provide any actual contact information on the packaging.  We want your customers to return to you for further sales!

First time orders are always pre-paid by verified check or credit card. Terms are available only for established accounts, and do not exceed N30.  Accounts may be opened by submitting six credit references and TAX ID number.  Please allow three weeks for verification.

Some jewelry pieces, like our Charm Bracelets, originally incorporated the genuine seaglass (a.k.a. beach glass) found along our beaches. However, we could never hope to find the wide range of shape and color found in our creations. To supplement the natural supply, Sand . Sea . Sun began recreating the sea glass process.

Today, the sea-style glass used in our jewelry is primarily recycled glass, created from broken bottles, stained glass remnants, and beads. This colorful glass is broken, formed and finished in our studios, then tumbled with genuine beach sand, gravel, and salt water to replicate the roll of ocean waves. The resulting sand-etched finish turns these pieces into modern sea jewels, resembling the natural beach glass found along the shore. In all our jewelry, we use the best ''metal'' for the job. The chains found in our necklaces and bracelets are always genuine sterling silver, as are the tiny accent beads. We like sterling for its natural clear color which does not ''compete'' with the brilliant shades of the glass, and any tarnish that may develop is easily cleaned.

Our earrings have sterling silver ear wires, in the French shepherd hook style. Each pair is delivered with clear tiny stoppers, for extra security.

Other accent beads and the bar & toggle clasps are of lead-free pewter. (Compliant with California Proposition 65.) This is a great metal, as it provides a tarnish resistant medium perfect for intricate detail at a reasonable price. It is also non-irritating for those with sensitive skin and hypo-allergenic requirements.

All of our jewelry is entirely American hand made on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We have studios in both locations, where several talented artists create our designs. We take real pride that our designs are American handmade, and not churned out by overseas assembly lines. Sand . Sea . Sun™ &  Austin Design™

are two distinctive American handcrafted jewelry lines. Sand . Sea . Sun™ is created from recycled glass similar to natural seaglass, and accented with sterling silver, sand etched glass beads, charms with nautical and sea life motifs, and bright crystals. Austin Design™ is a more contemporary line, incorporating, semi-precious stones, natural pearls, bohemian glass, and sterling silver. Austin Design Jewelry originated in 1987 on the Island of Cape Hatteras, a small fishing village on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and on the island of St. Thomas in the the U.S. Virgin Islands. Today, we have our studio in the foothills of the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Our company is a group of artisans which create each and every piece by hand. We pride ourselves not only in our original designs but also in the quality and workmanship which goes into every piece. Our inspiration, of course, is our home island ~ into all the jewelry we blend the colors, elements and feel of the ocean.
